every day after i wake up
it doesnt take long until i get dragged back
into this cold and cruel reality we all live in.
usually all it takes is a look into the newspaper.
page one. it says here
that around every fifth person in austria under the age of 18
has suicidal thoughts...every day.
every fifth person!
sadly, this doesnt surprise me.
imagine growing up in a society
that teaches you selfishness and competition
more than anything else.
a society where all your dreams,
your talents, your creativity, your needs,
are only relevant
if somebody can turn them into money.
a society that passes on traumas
from one generation to the next
because nobody ever gave a shit about it
as long as people were able to go to work.
imagine growing up in a world
that is very likely to face
a complete ecological collapse
by the time your grandchildren will be born.
every day!
every day!
a few hours later
i am busy writing applications
for jobs i dont want
because the jobcenter threathens to take away
the bare minimum of money they give me to somehow get by
if i dont sell 40 hours of every week of my life
to the highest bidder.
this makes me feel like i‘m not a human beeing anymore
but a number in calculation,
only a certain amount of workforce
that has just one single purpose:
to create profit.
and in fact that‘s what we all are, that‘s what they made us,
just resources that have to be put in place and managed
in the most efficient way possible
without any regards of the human beeings behind the numbers.
every day the lifes of millions
are sacrified to our capitalist system
are being crushed between the gears of the economy
sold by the powerful, applauded by the rich
all under the all-embracing rule
of the oh-so-free market.
every day!
every day!
and while i am writing these lines
in the east of europe our wise and mighty leaders
are pushing each other
into another pointless war.
another possibility for the desperate
to gather around the flag of their great nation
to be sent into the slaughterhouse
to heroicly give their lives for their country.
maybe nobody will ever hear this song
because soon
everything and everybody we ever knew
will be buried under the ruins
of our great civilization
and the nuklear fallout will be the only thing left
of the greatest race that has ever walked the earth.
maybe soon it will all be over.
maybe soon it will all be gone.
